GUE Performance Diver

A more accessible gateway for newer certified divers to experience GUE training.

The GUE Performance Diver course has been developed for those who prefer to participate in only two days of introductory training, and later on be able to integrate their educational path through the GUE Fundamentals course. The GUE Performance Diver course is conducted over 2 days, it includes 4 dives and at least 16 hours of instruction encompassing classroom, land drills, and in-water work. GUE Basic Fundamentals

The GUE Fundamentals Course is the most popular program offered by GUE. The Basic Fundamentals course is designed for divers who wish to improve their essential diving skills necessary for safe diving.

Some divers use the GUE Fundamentals program to enhance the training they received in traditional fast-track entry-level courses. Others see it as a gateway to participating in GUE projects and activities. Regardless of certification level or experience, all divers will benefit. Completing the course successfully is an achievement to be proud of, as the quality of a GUE Fundamentals diver is recognized worldwide.

The GUE Basic Fundamentals course offers all divers the opportunity to improve their basic diving skills. It serves divers who have not been trained by GUE (divers who are certified by another recognized diving organization) as an introduction to GUE training.

It is also a prerequisite for other recreational GUE courses, such as Navigation, Rescue, Deep Primers, Scientific Diver, DPV 1, and more.

Experienced Scuba Instructor Ready to Dive

Global Underwater Explorers emerged out of a shared desire to safely explore and protect the underwater world and to improve the quality of education and research in all things aquatic.

In line with the original vision of its founding members, GUE is committed to:

  • Developing safe, skilled, and knowledgeable divers
  • Undertaking and promoting underwater research
  • Pursuing global underwater exploration
  • Safeguarding the integrity of the underwater world
  • Providing the public with a comprehensive resource on all things aquatic

Working to redefine the ties binding the average underwater enthusiast to underwater explorers, conservationists and scientific researchers GUE is committed to the overall goal of promoting the interests of the underwater world and of those who seek to engage it.

Global Underwater Explorers (GUE) is a non-profit organization formed by leading explorers, researchers, and educators; these individuals are dedicated to the training of divers as well as the study and protection of the aquatic realm.

GUE and its associated projects are responsible for conducting some of the world's most remarkable dives, setting numerous world records in the process. The success of this group encouraged great interest in their diving and procedures. Of particular interest is the promotion of solid fundamental skills for all divers (recreational and technical) as well as their adherence to a common diving standard. This general standard requires:

  • Divers use the same equipment configuration; this enhances safety and efficiency
  • Divers use the same protocols and standard operating procedures(SOPs); this enhances safety and build a global community of divers.
  • Divers use the same well-defined set of breathing gases, including Nitrox, Helium and Oxygen; standard mixes eliminate complexity and greatly enhance safety
  • Divers use a team approach during all dives, facilitating fun and safety
  • Divers must have a solid grasp of fundamental diving skills, including refined buoyancy, trim and teamwork; these skills must be developed in concert with the type of dive pursued. Difficult dives require very high levels of skill development

What makes GUE Training different

Poor diving skills and inefficient equipment often results in unnecessary exertion, stress, degradation of the dive site, and thus less enjoyment. GUE's vibrant history includes both recreational excursions and aggressive exploration diving.

This experience has led GUE and likeminded divers around the world to embrace the need for greater diving proficiency. These enhanced skills provide greater enjoyment and less stress while also preserving fragile diving environments.

Divers experiencing difficulty in advanced dives and during technical training often suffer from poorly developed fundamental skills. Even amongst experienced divers, basic skills are often lacking - including good buoyancy control, efficient propulsion techniques and effective air sharing techniques.

Consequently, the GUE system aims to shift the industry away from quantity and toward a focus that insisted upon greater capacity from motivated individuals. As a non-profit education, research, conservation and exploration agency Global Underwater Explorers is ideally suited to encourage robust training - GUE training may be purchased but certification must always be earned!

GUE's diver training is distributed across a diverse educational curricula, including recreational diving, cave diving, technical diving and rebreather diving.

Why choose me as your GUE Instructor?
